Betsey's Country Schoolhouse Books:                Volume 1 and 2 and 3

She has interviewed over 700 former and current students and teachers in country schools in Colorado, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Nebraska. She has published a 650 page book called Country Schools:Past and Present Volume 1, and another book with 480 pages, Volume 2, and final in the series Volume 3 with 572 pages. The books are available at Red Bird Studio and other locations. Signed by author $39.95 each plus tax. Shipping available.

In the books, Betsey discusses her research as a city slicker learning about country schools and tells the fantastic story of country school experiences of people in the past with no running water or electricity or telephones, starting in 1906 until now, in schools that are still operating today in South Dakota.

 She illustrated some of the schoolhouses. Some of these are prints and cards. The prints are generally $20-$25 each; the cards are 5"x7". Cards come in packages of single, three, or custom assorted.
